I didn’t have a business plan.
I didn’t have a website.
I didn’t even have Ksh 10,000 in my M-Pesa.
But I had a promise.
It was a rainy Tuesday in Kibera. I was handing out flyers for my free WhatsApp tips when a little girl, no older than seven, tugged at my sleeve.
“Mama,” she said — because that’s what they call anyone who listens — “when will you help others like me?”
I didn’t know what she meant.
She pointed to the flyer. “My dad died last month. My mum sells tomatoes. She cries every night. She says we’ll eat tomorrow. But tomorrow never comes.”
I knelt down. I didn’t have answers. I didn’t have money. I didn’t even have a proper shirt on.
So I made a promise.
“I will help you,” I said. “Not with money. Not with pity. But with truth. I will tell the world how to help people like you — without asking for anything in return.”
That was the day Sautiyapesa was born.
Not when I got my first subscriber. Not when I made my first Ksh 500. Not even when I published my first post.
It was born when I looked into the eyes of a child who had no voice — and said: “I will be yours.”
Since then, I’ve written 33 posts.
I’ve helped thousands.
I’ve gotten messages like this:
“I read your post about ‘I Got My First Ksh 500… by Doing Nothing.’ I gave my last Ksh 500 to a girl selling mangoes. She gave me back two. I cried. I didn’t know I could be rich without money.” — David, Nakuru
You don’t need more tools.
You don’t need more apps.
You don’t need to be “professional.”
You just need to keep showing up.
And when someone asks you, “When will you help me?” — don’t say “soon.”
Say: “Right now.”
Because your voice — your truth — is the only currency that never runs out.
