I Didn’t Ask for Clients. They Came Because I Showed Up.

July 16, 2025

I didn’t ask for clients. I didn’t send cold DMs. I didn’t post “Hire me!” on Facebook.

I just showed up — every day — with one simple thing: Help.

You don’t attract clients by chasing them.

You attract them by being the person who shows up — quietly, consistently, and without expectation.

Here’s how it happened:

I Posted One Thing — Every Day — For 30 Days

For 30 days straight, I posted one thing on WhatsApp Status:

No sales pitch. No “DM me.” Just truth. Just help.

On Day 12 — someone messaged me: “Can you make one for my salon?”

On Day 18 — another: “I paid Ksh 500 for your PDF. Can you do a version for tailors?”

By Day 30 — I had 14 new clients. All from showing up — not selling.

Show Up Like You Mean It

Most people think marketing means: “Post more. Advertise more. Sell harder.”

The real way? It’s: Be useful. Be visible. Be consistent.

You don’t need to be loud. You just need to be there.

In Kenya, we know: The person who shows up every day — even if no one sees it — is the one people remember.

They don’t remember the loudest voice. They remember the one who helped them — when no one else did.

Your Next Move: The 7-Day Challenge

You don’t need to post for 30 days. Start small.

  1. Day 1: Share your free PDF: https://sautiyapesa.co.ke/blog/7-Hustle-Hacks-Kenya.pdf
  2. Day 2: Post a photo of your work — with a caption: “This was for [Name]. They said thank you.”
  3. Day 3: Record a 60-second voice note: “One thing I wish I knew before starting.”
  4. Day 4: Reply to one comment on Facebook or WhatsApp with: “I wrote about this here: https://sautiyapesa.co.ke/blog/post14.html”
  5. Day 5: Send your favorite blog post to one friend: “Thought you’d like this.”
  6. Day 6: Take a photo of yourself smiling. Caption: “Still here. Still helping.”
  7. Day 7: Do nothing. Just reflect. Ask yourself: “Who did I help this week?”

That’s it.

No fancy tools. No budget. Just you — showing up.

This isn’t marketing. It’s character.

You’re not building a business. You’re building a reputation.

And in Kenya — your reputation is your currency.

So here’s your challenge:

Choose ONE thing from above — and do it today.

Don’t wait for “perfect.” Don’t wait for “more time.”

Just show up — even if it’s messy. Even if no one sees it.

Because someone is waiting for you to be brave enough to start.

You don’t need to chase clients. You just need to be the kind of person they want to find.

And you already are.
