I didn’t call anyone. I didn’t post on Facebook. I didn’t even reply to a single DM.
And yet — I made my first Ksh 500.
Here’s what really happened:
On WhatsApp Status, I shared a simple photo of my “Canva Flyer Checklist” with this caption:
“Free for anyone who needs it. No strings. Just helping.”
I didn’t say “DM me if you want it.” I didn’t tag anyone. I just posted it… and went to buy chapati.
Two hours later, I got a message:
“Hey, I downloaded the checklist. Can you make one for my kiosk? Ksh 500?”
I said yes. She paid via M-Pesa. I sent her the flyer. That was my first Ksh 500.
For months, I thought selling meant chasing people. But real sales? They happen when you give something away — freely — and then let someone choose to pay you.
You don’t need to pitch. You don’t need to convince. You just need to be helpful — and visible.
The person who paid me? She saw my free offer. She realized I could help. She chose to invest in me.
That’s not salesmanship. That’s trust.
Stop posting 5 times a day. Stop begging for attention. Stop thinking you need to be “on” all the time.
Instead:
When you stop chasing, you start attracting.
This isn’t magic. It’s math.
One free thing → 100 views → 5 DMs → 1 sale = Ksh 500.
You don’t need 1,000 followers. You just need 1 person who needed what you offered.
So here’s your challenge this week:
Make one free thing. Post it once. Then do nothing.
Wait. Watch. Let the right person find you.
When they do — you’ll know. And you’ll be ready.
Which free thing will you make?
